The patented SPF Overlap Panel design is the answer for existing power plants that need to refurbish their systems. Instead of applying a full carbon steel backer like in the Batten Bar design, only a 4" wide carbon steel strip is attached to one long side of the the corrosion resistant liner. Where as on the batten bar design resistance welds are placed on 6" centers, on the overlap panes 1 or 2 resistance welds are placed on 1" center.
|
The 4" wide carbon steel strip is only .063" thick as is the corrosion resistant liner. This gives the user a corrosion resistant sheet of a metal that is non-weld compatible with carbon steel, yet with a carbon steel strip at the top so that it may be welded directly to the existing carbon steel structure. The sheets are placed so that the next sheet overlaps the previous one and all carbon steel is shielded from the environment surrounding. Once again a liner-to-liner fuse weld is performed and a 100% seal is obtained.

As can be seen from the picture to the right, each sheet is 48" x 240", thus covering a lot of area in a short time. Similar to the batten bar system, sheets can be supplied either flat or curved and cut to any shape necessary to accommodate transitions and others. Typical sizes are 48" x 240" but as with all of our products, these can be made to fit customer requirements best.
