Over the years SPF Corporation of America has developed a patented and highly successful system used to prevent corrosion in FGD plants. We have a lining system that utilizes a thin layer of highly corrosion resistant metal bonded to a relatively inexpensive carbon steel substrate. This process of applying the highly corrosion resistant metal to the inexpensive substrate is known as our patented SUN Z-R cladding system.

It allows us to clad both weld compatible metals such as nickel based alloys with carbon steels and non-weld compatible metals with each other such as titanium with carbon steel. This technique allows the cost effective use of both relatively high cost alloy metals and relatively low cost carbon steel.

We can supply both retrofit for existing FGD systems as well as new construction for new plants. Our system is very easy to install with relatively very little skilled labor required. 

For retrofit systems we use the so called Overlap Panel design. More details and illustrations can be found on the corresponding page.

For new construction we use the so called Batten Bar design. Once again, more details can be found on the corresponding page.

Both systems are completely completely customizable and are supplied as a elementary "puzzle" to be assembled on site.

Since the first installation in 1984, over 1,000,000 sq. ft. of FGD ductwork, chimney liners and absorbers have been protected with our SUN Z-R cladding system as can be seen in the table below.
